Hi, it's Patto! A greedy pot-seller cheated people. Birbal decided to teach him a very clever lesson using the merchant's own greed!

A greedy, dishonest pot-seller was cheating his customers. People complained, and Birbal decided to teach him a lesson.

Birbal bought three big pots (તપેલા) from the merchant.

A few days later, Birbal returned with three tiny pots, claiming his big pots had "given birth" to these three "baby" pots overnight — and since they belonged to the merchant, Birbal generously "returned" them for free!

The greedy merchant, secretly laughing at Birbal's "foolishness," happily kept the free baby pots.

Later, Birbal came back and rented three more big pots for four days. The merchant, hoping for more "baby pots," happily agreed — and even reminded Birbal to bring back any babies!

On the fourth day, Birbal returned with only ONE pot. When the furious merchant demanded his other two pots, Birbal calmly said: "Two of the pots died."
When the merchant scoffed "Pots don't die!", Birbal smiled: "If pots can give birth to babies, why can't they also die?" The merchant realized his own greedy lie had trapped him — he apologized and promised never to cheat anyone again.
